What is End-to-End (E2E) Tests?

Definition

End-to-End (E2E) testing is a software testing methodology that validates the entire application flow from start to finish. It simulates real user scenarios to ensure that all integrated components function together correctly.

Details

E2E tests interact with the application through its user interface, just like a real user would, and verify that the UI, backend APIs, database, and external third-party services are communicating properly. While they are the most comprehensive type of test, they are also the slowest to execute and hardest to maintain.
